The True Type Text plug-in allows you to create
2D or 3D text in your database based on any "True Type Font"
loaded on your system. The 3D text created is similar to other
geometries, so you can modify it with any geometry tools.
To create 3D text geometry, you select a font to use, enter
the text, then choose its location in the database.
Unlike the existing 3D Text tool in Creator,
which requires "pre-built" font geometry to function, this
tool builds geometry dynamically based on the font definitions
contained in any True Type font on your computer. It reads
the "outlines" defined in the True Type font and tessellates
those outlines to create 2D geometry. Optionally, these outlines
are raised or extruded to create 3D geometry.
