Overview
A patch consists of
several files compressed and archived into a single archive file.
The files contained in the archive file include a README file together
with one or more product files. The README file describes the contents
of the patch. The product files AUGMENT or REPLACE files of
the original product installation and are intended to correct problems addressed
by the patch. Archiving several files into one single archive file makes
the patch easier to download to your computer.
In general, the steps necessary
to install a patch include:
- Exit all running instances
of the applicable product(s)
- Download the archive
file containing the patch to your computer
- Extract the product
files contained in the patch archive file to your product installation
- Review the README file
included with the patch
- Restart the product
Note: Specific instructions
for installing a particular patch are listed in the section that describes
that patch.

| Bugs Fixed
Bugs Fixed
Stability
– Improved stability and memory usage when running long processes, especially in Mesh, Project Culture, and Altitude Priority tools.
– Improved memory usage in image management.
– Fixed intermittent crashes that occurred when loading or reloading a dataset into the spatial view.
– Fixed crash that occurred when opening a spatial view while a process was running.
– Fixed file handle leak during process execution.
Infrastructure/Process Management
– Fixed hang when a process was run while editing a statemap.
Status Log
– Increased the number of lines saved in the status log view from 1000 to 8000.
– Fixed status settings in status view. These settings allow you to filter status messages by severity (e.g. only display Warning messages).
Terrain Wizard
– Improved Terrain Design logic so it doesn't create inappropriate switch distances between levels.
Image Wizard
– Modified wizard so it allows you to make a non-square virtual texture.
Statemap editor
– Added the Sibling Analysis statemap operation. This is a companion to the Parent and Child analysis operations. In many cases, if one child tile exists, then all children under the same parent tile must exist. For example, when a terrain tile switches to a higher level of detail, you'll get a hole if any of the tiles at the higher level do not exist. Sibling Analysis will iterate over a statemap to ensure that if any children of a given parent are set then all of its siblings are also set. See the CTS on-line help for more details.
– Fix Query Dataset to work when run from the spatial view.
Convert Coordinates Tool
– Fixed the tool to convert vertex normals in terrains built using mesh nodes.
– Fixed the tool to handle XREF nodes correctly when converting to the Geocentric coordinate system.
Culture Processing
– Fix cases where spikes were introduced when a projected feature crossed a terrain tile boundary.
– Fixed cases where linears were projected slightly below the terrain.
– Improved error reporting in Project Culture tool.
– Fixed Style Editor crash when shapefile contains special characters (e.g. spaces, parentheses, or ampersands).
– Fixed the Convert Culture tool to correctly handle version 3.0 DFD files.
– Fixed the tool to filter out features that are flagged as "deleted" within a DFD file.
– Modified culture projection to handle multi-part (i.e. "Doughnut") feature geometry.
Mesh tool
– Modified the Mesh tool to handle an unlimited number of input elevation files. Previously, the tool only handled 10 input files.
– Improved error checking and validation for the Mesh tool.
Data Object editor
– File browsers launched from the dialog now default to the dataset's volume and path.
– Modified the "Query From Files" button on the image attributes page to let you load attributes from another dataset.
Spatial View
– Fixed spatial view to update when a grid structure or coverage changes for one of the displayed statemaps or datasets.
– Added a flag to the spatial view preferences to let you turn off the red grid lines visible when viewing images in the spatial view. The grid lines indicate the tile size within the image file being viewed.
– Fixed the spatial view to warn the user when the selected background image cannot be loaded.
Altitude Priority
– Made significant speed improvements to Altitude Priority (AP is now 66% faster).
– AP does a better job of reporting status. AP uses a three-pass algorithm. Previously, progress was not set until the third pass for all tiles. Now, progress is set in the first pass if a tile will not be modified in the remaining two passes.
Image Processing
– Fixed problems handling 16-bit image files.
– Improved validation for the Chop tool.
– Fixed Chop tool so you can manually create a list dataset as input.
– Fixed seams produced in virtual textures where the source imagery is in the eastern hemisphere.
– Fixed problems handling 11-bit GeoTIFF images (e.g. IKONOS imagery).
Publish MetaFlight
– Improved validation.
User Interface
– Added a command to the View menu that lets you reset the positions and docking states of the Task explorer, Data Explorer, and Monitor windows.

Glossary of Terms
| Archive File |
A file created in such a
way that it contains several other files. Each patch is distributed
as a single archive file containing a README file plus one or more
product files. In this way, a patch may include several files,
but when you download it, you need only download one single file.
After downloading the archive file containing a patch onto your computer,
you can then extract the files from the archive into the correct location. |
| Archive Type |
The kind of archive file
containing the patch:
Self Extracting Zip - Executable file
that when run, extracts files from itself (Windows)
Normal Zip - Requires WinZip or
other zip extraction program to extract files (Windows)
GNU Zip - Requires GNU gunzip
program to extract files (IRIX)
GNU TAR Zip - Requires tar and
gunzip programs to extract files (IRIX) |
| Bug |
A defect/problem in our software. |
| Date |
The date that the patch was
first available. |
| OS |
The operating system to which
the patch applies:
Windows - Includes Windows NT/98/2000
unless specifically noted
IRIX - Includes IRIX v6.2 and above unless
specifically noted |
| Patch |
A new piece of software that
augments your existing software to fix one or more problems. |
| Priority |
The importance of a certain
patch:
Required - it is important that you install
this patch to fix a major problem
Recommended - we think you should install
this patch, but you don't have to
Optional - it's completely up to you
if you want to install this patch (typically for minor corrections) |

Each patch includes a README
file that contains information about the patch. It is typically
named according to the naming conventions described
above. |
| Status |
The availability of a patch
for downloading:
Available - the patch is available for
download and has not been obsoleted by another patch
Obsolete and Available - the patch is
available for download, but has been obsoleted by another more recent
patch
