This scene is from a fighter pilot training application developed
for US Air Force MTC F-16 program. The area of interest is Shaw
Air Force Base in Sumter, SC and the database was created as a collaborative
effort between Lockheed Martin and MultiGen-Paradigm. The application
is driven by FlightIG, MultiGen-Paradigm's image generation application
based on Vega, and is optimized for fast jet and helicopter flight
simulation using complex geospecific databases. The final solution
uses hardware from SGI.
FlightIG has been delivered for engineering and training simulations
for the F-15, F-16, F-22, and Joint Strike Fighter aircraft. FlightIG
renders correlated views for out-the-window displays, infrared sensors,
night vision goggles, and radar, and its high-level host interface
speeds integration.
