EDS Virtual Reality Center
Urban Planning, Operations, and Promotion
EDS developed a virtual model of the city of Sterling Heights,
Michigan Civic Center Commons for the use in planning, operating
and promoting the complex. The final application provided the community
with a way to view existing and proposed buildings and the surrounding
vicinity. The application was built by merging existing terrain
survey data, and AutoCAD data with new landscape drawings creating
an impressive view of the complex.
MultiGen Creator was used for texturing and realtime optimization.
The OpenFlight format was used as the standard for data exchange
by the development team. Vega was used as the application development
platform.
