This scene is from the Lewis Avenue Corridor Beautification Project undertaken by the City of Las Vegas Planning and Development Department. The project's goal was to create a pedestrian-friendly corridor along Lewis Avenue between Las Vegas Boulevard and Casino Center Boulevard, including landscaping and public space enhancements to complement and unify some of downtown Las Vegas' newest projects.
SiteBuilder 3D was used as the rendering tool and ESRI Arcview GIS 3.2 was the base development tool. The City of Las Vegas digitized building footprints, obtained elevation information for the buildings and took digital photographs of the buildings and other major features in the area. Using MultiGen Creator, they pasted the images onto the buildings. SiteBuilder 3D was then used to create and record fly-throughs of the project.
The project was extremely successful and accurately predicted what the beautification project looked like when it was completed.
