Using simulation to promote better understanding of proposed developments and impacts to speed the approval process

The RainBros Development Company hired Bergmann Associates Visualization (BAViz) to complete a realtime simulated database of the proposed High Point Business Park located in victor, New York. The Town Planning Board requested that a simulation be used during the planning and town board approval processes.

The simulation depicted the proposed conditions for the 110 acre development which includes retail, office and residential spaces. Used during workshops and public hearings; the simulation clearly presented to the Planning Board, the Town Board and concerned citizens groups that the proposed development would not adversely impact the scenic hillsides of the town.

The tools used to create this application included: Creator, Creator Pro and Vega Prime. The application is deployed on a Windows based notebook computer coupled with an LCD projector. The site of the proposed development was heavily wooded and RainBros Development went to great lengths to preserve as much of the woods as possible.
