MULTIGEN-PARADIGM DELIVERS NIGHT VISION GOGGLE AND SENSOR POD SIMULATION FOR F-16 NETWORKED TRAINING CENTER AT LUKE AIR FORCE BASE

Sensor Simulation Provides Full Mission Training To Better Prepare Pilots

Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation & Education Conference (I/ITSEC) - Orlando, FL - December 6, 2004 - MultiGen-Paradigm®, Inc., the leading provider of realtime 3D visual simulation software solutions, delivered two night vision goggle (NVG) and sensor pod simulations for the F-16 Networked Training Center (NTC) at Luke AFB, AZ, through a subcontract with Lockheed Martin Information & Technology Services and SGI Federal. The NTC program supplies F-16 training systems to the U.S. Air Force. This simulation upgrade will permit the U.S. Air Force to extend the training capabilities of the F-16 NTC to include the use of NVGs and IR sensors in all mission phases.

MultiGen-Paradigm delivered visual simulation technology to the program to bring world-class NVG training and simulation capabilities to the US Air Force. Included in the deliveries were sensor datasets that augment and precisely correlate with the existing F-16 NTC geospecific out-the-window (OTW) databases. The physics-based NVG simulation provided by FlightIG NVG coordinates with the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) Sensor Host video post-processor producing head-tracked video to the pilot's Helmet Mounted Display (HMD). FlightIG IR simulates the LANTIRN AN/AAQ-14 Targeting Pod video provided to the cockpit displays. Complete correlation between the Out-the-Window, NVG and sensor scenes was assured by using the MultiGen-Paradigm runtime and database technologies, reducing risk while providing a completely immersive training environment for pilots.

"Our database generation system is designed to maximize flexibility, performance and configurability, enabling us to go back and enhance existing databases reducing program risk and cost," said Sandeep Divekar, CEO at MultiGen-Paradigm "We are delivering open databases, built on industry standards that provide our customers a low risk and low cost path to modify and enhance their databases using COTS tools."
