Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation & Education Conference (I/ITSEC) - Orlando, FL - December 6, 2004 - MultiGen-Paradigm®, Inc. has delivered the prototype night vision goggle (NVG) simulation software for the F-16 Mission Training Center (MTC) to Lockheed Martin in Akron, Ohio. MultiGen-Paradigm, a leading provider of realtime 3D visual simulation software solutions, is now in the production phase of the NVG simulation software that is to be included in F-16 MTCs. Lockheed Martin's F-16 MTC pilot training systems provide realistic immersive training to the U.S. Air Force in high-resolution virtual training environments. MultiGen-Paradigm developed the NVG simulation software databases by using its Creator Terrain Studio technology to correlate with the F-16 MTC visual databases and FlightIG NVG runtime display software. This software is also configured to coordinate with the Air Force Research Lab's SensorHost and video processor for realtime simulation producing head-tracked video to the helmet mounted display. Correlation to the existing F-16 MTC geospecific out-the-window (OTW) scene was assured by using the MultiGen-Paradigm integrated runtime and database technologies. The NVG database includes realistic landmarks and terrain to provide sensor cues to pilots adding to the F-16 MTC's training capabilities. "Our COTS tools enabled us to go back and enhance existing databases reducing program risk and cost," said Sandeep Divekar, CEO at MultiGen-Paradigm. "We are delivering open databases, built on industry standards that enable our customers to move forward on their own to modify and enhance their databases."
