MULTIGEN-PARADIGM ANNOUNCES CREATOR TERRAIN STUDIO v1.2

Expanded Core Functionality Delivers Enhanced Interoperability, Usability and Portability

San Jose, Calif. - December 6 2004 - MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc., a leading provider of realtime 3D visual simulation software solutions, announced Creator Terrain Studio™ v1.2. Creator Terrain Studio delivers a unique set of 3D scene creation, geometry/texture creation tools and workflow management focused on the production of complex, large-area realtime 3D terrain databases.

New feature highlights for this release include the import of an expanded number of vector formats as well as new capabilities for viewing and editing this data. Users will also benefit from new portability features such as the import of MetaFlight™ that will enable the distribution and sharing of terrain production tasks for increased productivity. This release delivers more intuitive access and information about terrain production workflows that provide users with more control over the database design translating into increased performance and reduced database production times.

"The enhanced features of CTS v1.2 shall provide our team an ability to provide a timely and accurate database for the Royal Australian Air Force F/A-18 Hornet Operational Flight Trainer," said Scott Wevers, Systems Engineer at NATNIS SIMULATION Pty Ltd. "Along with the already impressive list of features of the previous versions of CTS, version 1.2 has improved imagery, cultural and importation features which are beneficial to our team. Virtual texture can now be created from a greater range of imagery sources, of particular importance to us is the ability to import ecw files directly, which considerably reduces our overheads. The incorporation of the vector view and other cultural improvements provides an efficient path for editing, creating and integrating cultural features to our database. The other important features to our project is the ability to import external metaflight files into a single POD, reducing the need to duplicate areas that have previously been generated."

"This release represents a significant expansion of MultiGen-Paradigm's large-area terrain generation production solution," said Jon Zucker Director of Product Management for Creator Terrain Studio at MultiGen-Paradigm. "Customers will immediately be able to take advantage of more vector and raster support and the integration of GIS-based capabilities for vector editing. Enabling multiple users to share and understand data at various stages of production combined with Creator Terrain Studio's unique approach to terrain production workflow and data management makes it a flexible large-area terrain production tool."

Creator Terrain Studio's unique approach to workflow process and geospatial data management allows customers to deliver complex, large-area terrain databases that meet varying requirements. This approach results in shorter production timeframes, design flexibility and promotes reusability. Creator Terrain Studio is the industry's only solution that captures the workflow process and catalogs metadata based on MultiGen-Paradigm's MetaFlight schema, which optimizes realtime paging efficiency by communicating the metadata than enables runtime application to take advantage of the database structure.
