MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc. Selects ESRI's SDE For Future Database Foundation
Business Partnership with ESRI Established

ORLANDO, Fla.- December 1, 1999 - MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc., the leading developer of realtime 3D modeling and simulation tools, today announced at I/ITSEC in Orlando, it has selected ESRI's Spatial Database Engine (SDE) as the foundation of its impending visual database production environment. Additionally, MultiGen-Paradigm announced it has joined ESRI's Business Partner Program.

By utilizing the SDE, MultiGen-Paradigm will provide users with a single database management system that facilitates interoperability with its modeling and simulation tools. The stamina of the SDE will enable developers to store and manage data on one integrated system, removing the need to copy data to another system when creating 3D visualizations. Furthermore, the SDE is compatible with most leading industry database management structures and enables multi-processing of additional applications, including ESRI's ArcInfo, Marconi's Socet Setñ and ERDAS' Imagine.

"MultiGen-Paradigm selected ESRI's SDE for its power and compatibility with major relational databases in the current market," said Dave Rolston, president and CEO, MultiGen-Paradigm. "Our customers will value a visual database production system that supports multiple systems."

MultiGen-Paradigm Joins ESRI's Business Partner Program
MultiGen-Paradigm has joined ESRI's Business Partner program to facilitate the development of new and innovative solutions for the end user community. The results of these efforts will help GIS users to create 3D content from existing spatial data.

Since joining this program, MultiGen-Paradigm has embarked on two separate programs that leverage ESRI's products. The SDE solution previously mentioned will manage vast amounts of spatial data used to create visual databases. The second product under development is an extension to ESRI's ArcView GIS product that creates a realtime 3D database from elevation and feature themes.

"MultiGen-Paradigm is helping to move the GIS industry forward by integrating its visual simulation technologies with ESRI products. We are proud they have selected our tools to develop advanced 3D GIS visualization applications," said Jack Dangermond, ESRI president.

"ESRI is an established leader in the GIS marketplace," said Rolston. "By partnering together, MultiGen-Paradigm and ESRI will move the industry forward by providing fully-integrated GIS and 3D visualization solutions."
