Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation & Education Conference (I/ITSEC) - Orlando, FL. - December 1, 2005 - MultiGen-Paradigm®, Inc., a leading provider of realtime 3D visual simulation software solutions, under a subcontract to Link Simulation and Training, was awarded the contract to develop and deliver geospatial databases, a database generation system and image generation system to support F-18 Fighter pilot training. MultiGen-Paradigm constructed multiple databases to support F-18 fighter pilot training as part of a contract to deliver image generators, databases, and a database generation system. The objectives of this project are to provide the customer with training opportunities through networked simulation, joint training, combined training and mission rehearsal opportunities. Under subcontract to Link, the MultiGen-Paradigm team developed image generator software and databases to support high-fidelity flight trainers. The image generator software renders nine out-the-window channels each at a resolution of 2240x2336, two weapons video channels and a simulated night vision goggle channel per trainer. The various IG channels are hosted on Linux and IRIX based systems. The databases were constructed using Creator and Creator Terrain Studio, FlightIG, the image generation software system, uses the popular CIGI protocol for host communication. It is based on Vega Prime and Sensor Prime which allowed a single code-base and database representation to be used on the various hardware systems. The terrain databases are geospecific and support high-fidelity physics-based sensor simulation in addition to correlation with other subsystems within the Link F-18 training system. "MultiGen-Paradigm has been delivering robust cross-platform image generation systems and databases to its customers over many years based on its proven and innovative technologies," said Sandeep Divekar, President/CEO at MultiGen-Paradigm. "MultiGen-Paradigm is pleased to be delivering a complete turnkey solution based on its award-winning COTS technology to meet the training needs of the F-18 platform."
