MultiGen-Paradigm Expands Visual Simulation Solutions
Introduction of Fast Jet IG Now Available

ORLANDO, Fla. - November 30, 19993 - MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc. today announced at I/ITSEC in Orlando FlightIG, a software architecture that enables high-end graphics workstations to perform as image generators. With the introduction of FlightIG, MultiGen-Paradigm is offering the premier solution for Fast Jet and helicopter IG applications in both dome and flat-panel displays for SGI systems.

FlightIG currently runs on SGI's Onyx 2 Infinite Reality 2 workstations. Evolving features are targeted for low/slow flight simulation for helicopters and tilt rotor aircraft. MultiGen-Paradigm developed FlightIG based on the company's flagship product Vega™, designed specifically for high frame rates while rendering complex large-area databases. FlightIG is also designed to provide flexibility in tailoring to the requirements of specific applications through modifications to the interface and additions to the functionality.

With the introduction of FlightIG, MultiGen-Paradigm offers a turnkey solution to its customers based on COTS software, with a competitively priced, maintainable solution. The versatility of FlightIG allows it to provide a variety of image generation configurations. For example, users are able to drive one display at very high resolution, or drive two displays for two different simulators, each with a completely different database.

"We feel that the combination of SGI hardware, Flight IG, and MultiGen-Paradigm's service team is a powerhouse for image generator customers," said John Burwell, director, Global Government Programs, SGI.

Because FlightIG is built on the company's own standard commercial software products, it benefits from all research and development efforts to continually add and enhance features and performance. This synergy works to the benefit of all MultiGen-Paradigm customers.
