MultiGen-Paradigm Offers Free Vega™ Player

ORLANDO, Fla. November 29, 1999 – MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc. today announced at I/ITSEC in Orlando it is providing the industry with a free, unlicensed Vega viewer for Microsoft Windows NT OpenGL compliant and SGI IRIX systems. The NT version views OpenFlight, FST and VRML file formats, while the Vega Player for IRIX reads all files for which there is an IRIS Performer loader. In offering a free, unlicensed Vega Player, MultiGen-Paradigm is presenting a cost-effective, simple way to view real-time 3D databases. Users will have the unrestricted ability to fly through such databases.

MultiGen-Paradigm’s Vega is the most widely used real-time 3D application development environment in the industry. This tool enables customers to preview real-time 3D content quickly within the Vega environment, without having to write code, or to rely on an existing application, or another third-party viewing application.

"MultiGen-Paradigm is pleased to provide the industry with the capability to view real-time 3D databases using the Vega Player," said Dave Rolston, president and CEO, MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc. "Our customers have come to depend on quality software from MultiGen-Paradigm, and we are pleased to be able to offer this powerful tool at no cost. We expect that the Vega Player will become the de facto standard for viewing real-time 3D environments."

MultiGen-Paradigm is distributing the player on CD to I/ITSEC attendees. The Vega Player may also be downloaded free of charge from the MultiGen-Paradigm Web site, www.multigen-paradigm.com.
