MultiGen-Paradigm Announces Formation of Interoperability Development Team

ORLANDO, Fla. - November 29, 19993 -MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc. today announced at I/ITSEC in Orlando the formation of an engineering team focused on data interoperability. The new team, lead by Reed Whittington, will drive MultiGen-Paradgim's data interoperability strategy across its line of database generation products.

"I'm looking forward to helping MultiGen-Paradigm shape the future for data interoperability by collaborating with SEDRIS and other key industry groups," said Reed Whittington, principal software engineer, Interoperability Solutions, MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc.

This teams' directive leverages the experience of OpenFlight™, an industry-standard database format, and a rich heritage of database development techniques. Major initiatives are underway to seamlessly integrate and reuse data. The engineering team will focus on data interoperability for many areas of visualization, from flight to ground applications. In particular, this team will work on ensuring that MultiGen-Paradigm tools continue to support the increasing requirements of the SAF community.

"The industry looks to MultiGen-Paradigm as a leader in visual simulation to assist with initiatives like SEDRIS. We've supported the SEDRIS initiative in the past. The formation of the Interoperability team allows us to provide an even greater level of energy in this critical area," said Elizabeth Smith, vice president, Engineering, MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc.

Whittington joined MultiGen-Paradigm in November and brings over 12 years of development experience in the Modeling and Simulation engineering domain to MultiGen-Paradigm. Whittington's domain expertise centers on real-time image generation, synthetic environments and distributed interactive simulation.

Prior to joining MultGen-Paradigm, Whittington spent four years working in various areas of interoperability including working with the SEDRIS initiative to advance standards for interoperability of shared synthetic environments. Additionally, Whittington holds multiple patents in areas of visual data base production methods, and is an active participant in the Simulator Interoperability Workshop and the IMAGE Society.
