FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Revolutionary approach to terrain generation will define the new way to create visual databases Orlando, Fla.-November 26, 2001 - Today at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation & Education Conference (I/ITSEC), MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc., the leading provider of realtime 3D software solutions, announced Creator Terrain Studio, a new tool for processing and managing data for the creation of complex visual simulation databases. This product announcement is a key component of MultiGen-Paradigm's new corporate strategy introduced today that marks their response to the shifting requirements of the visual simulation industry. Creator Terrain Studio allows users to design their database generation workflow using a hierarchical top-down approach, streamlining their operations while accessing numerous tools for building simple to complex databases. One of Creator Terrain Studio's main differentiators is its project management system that captures all workflow steps and catalogs meta-data about dataset and processes based on MultiGen-Paradigm's MetaFlight schema. Creator Terrain Studio breaks data into geographically tiled datasets and then catalogs that data in a persistent object database for increased scalability, future reference and reuse. Users will find that using Creator Terrain Studio will save significant amounts of time because of its ability to reuse datasets, including the raw source data, intermediate data and published output data. "Creator Terrain Studio corrects a deficiency in workflow management that has existed in the visual simulation industry for far too long," said Jon Zucker, Creator Terrain Studio product manager for MultiGen-Paradigm. "By relieving developers of the burden of manually tracking their work, Creator Terrain Studio frees up valuable time and resources to better address the primary task at hand." Creator Terrain Studio also offers a new set of tools previously unavailable in the MultiGen Creator product line. These include terrain post processing tools to ensure proper LOD structure and to eliminate terrain anomalies; virtual texture generation tools that leverage high-resolution imagery and insets for terrain draping; and powerful culture projection tools that offer 11 different projection methods as well as predefined and custom projection mappings.
