FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
San Jose, Calif. - October 22, 2001 - MultiGen-Paradigm, the leading provider of realtime 3D software solutions, announced today the availability of MultiGen Creator 2.5, a comprehensive toolset for the rapid generation of optimized object models, high fidelity terrain, and synthetic environments for use in realtime visual simulation, urban simulation and other visualization applications. Creator Model Studio, also announced today, is MultiGen-Paradigm's newest stand-alone tool that bridges the gap between model creation and scene assembly of those models in the runtime system, creating a more complete environment to coordinate and manage OpenFlight data. MultiGen Creator 2.5 contains reintegration of the Texture Editor and the Custom Tool Palette. These particular features were hallmarks of high productivity in historical MultiGen modeling tools, and have returned with greater capabilities for today's users. The new feature enhancements made to MultiGen Creator 2.5 are direct results of customer feedback collected by MultiGen-Paradigm and is indicative of the company's commitment to customer influence into the most comprehensive and innovative commercial tools for creating and running interactive, high fidelity, realtime 3D applications. Also available as a new product alongside MultiGen Creator 2.5 for Microsoft® Windows® NT and 2000 Professional is Creator Model Studio. This new tool increases MultiGen Creator users' ability to perform more organized modeling practices by supporting the full modeling lifecycle: including specification, creation and verification. Creator Model Studio also provides a runtime visual validation tool to "exercise" the models in a Vega preview application. "Creator Model Studio frees users to get OpenFlight right, one hundred percent of the time. Anyone who has OpenFlight data is a potential user of Creator Model Studio," said MultiGen Creator Product Manager Todd Griffith. "Creator Model Studio v1.0 is the launch of a new product foundation for the specification, validation, documentation, and inspection of OpenFlight files in a true WYSIWYG environment, as it would appear in Vega, long before any inconsistencies could show up in the final runtime application. Consistency and predictability is everything when passing models from creation to runtime-and making that process smoother is what Creator Model Studio is all about." "Creator Model Studio gives me an efficient and easier way to automate work that would have taken months to accomplish," said Dan Stipe, Visual Database Manager at GreyStone Technology, Inc. "We have a library of over 1,000 different entity models that need to be organized and catalogued. Before Creator Model Studio was available this project would have been overwhelming and most likely would not have been accomplished. Now, I'm actually looking forward to it." MultiGen-Paradigm is also working on its next-generation terrain-authoring product, Creator Terrain Studio. In its initial release, Creator Terrain Studio will implement primary synthetic environment generation processes in a managed environment including: Terrain Skin Tessellation, Image Processing for Virtual Texture Generation, and Automatic Feature Projection and Generation. Entity and Object Modeling will continue to be provided by MultiGen Creator and validated by Creator Model Studio. Users can look forward to a Q1 2002 release of Creator Terrain Studio.
