Stockholm, Sweden - October 21, 2002 - Sjoland & Thyselius Virtual Reality Systems (STVRS), today announced the availability of version 1.0 of Blueberry3D Terrain Editor for Creator Terrain Studio and Blueberry3D Development Environment for Vega Prime, MultiGen-Paradigm's flagship realtime 3D software solutions. Sjoland & Thyselius' release of the Blueberry3D Terrain Editor, a plug-in to MultiGen-Paradigm's Creator Terrain Studio, will generate high-fidelity terrain specifically for the Blueberry3D Development Environment, a module for MultiGen-Paradigm's Vega Prime. The Blueberry3D Development Environment for Vega Prime provides users the ability to integrate high performance terrain generated from the Blueberry3D Terrain Editor into their applications. Additional plug-ins for MultiGen-Paradigm's Creator Terrain Studio are in development by STVRS that will create terrain data and features for applications where high-resolution is needed but does not require the fractal and procedural generation of content at runtime such as SAF and more traditional visual simulation applications. "The availability to use the Blueberry3D technology in Creator Terrain Studio and Vega Prime provides users with dramatically enhanced terrain generation functionality and an increased level of detail and fidelity, while requiring minimal development effort," said Rune Thyselius, chief executive officer, STVRS. "We believe that MultiGen-Paradigm offers the best tools on the market and want to add our technologies to an already impressive lineup of products." "This collaborative relationship with STVRS allows us to extend and strengthen our support of the visual simulation community by providing our customers with the ability to add increased realism using fractal and procedural geometry," said Chris Hawkins, vice president of sales and marketing at MultiGen-Paradigm. "By working closely with STVRS, we are taking full advantage of the highly customizable and extensible architecture of both Creator Terrain Studio and Vega Prime to meet the specific needs of our users' applications."
