Evans & Sutherland and MultiGen-Paradigm Join Forces To Offer PC-Based, OpenGL Simulation Package
Strategic OEM Agreement Bundles E&S simFUSION with MultiGen-Paradigm Vega Software

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, October 12, 1999 - Evans & Sutherland Computer Corporation (NASDAQ: ESCC) and MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc. today announced plans to offer a simulation package that combines the E&S simFUSIONŠ image generation system with MultiGen-Paradigm's VegaŠ software. E&S simFUSION is the first low-cost, PC-based, fully OpenGL-compliant image generation system with true simulation features. MultiGen-Paradigm Vega is the premiere software environment for real-time application development.

Designed specifically to address the needs of simulation and entertainment content developers, part-task training providers, and computer-based training providers, simFUSION offers high performance under real simulation conditions and image quality never before available in its price range. Unlike other image generator products in this range, simFUSION is a scalable system solution that allows users to work with their existing Windows host and applications.

The simFUSION/Vega bundle will provide customers with a complete, drop-in, ready-to-use simulator. Designed specifically to address the needs of developers and integrators, the package includes server-level multiprocessing PC hardware with high-level graphics and real-time hardware support for a number of simulation functions. The graphics are based on E&S's REALimage® graphics acceleration technology. Key features include 1280x1024 resolution and full OpenGL compliance, as well as order-independent and full-scene subpixel antialiasing. In addition, simFUSION provides true-color rendering, ChanLockTM channel synchronization, and 16MB of texture memory.

Vega is MultiGen-Paradigm's software environment that creates real-time visual and audio simulations, virtual reality, sensor, and general visualization applications. By combining advanced simulation functionality with easy-to-use tools, Vega provides the infrastructure to build, edit, and run sophisticated applications quickly and easily.

"Offering the power of E&S simFUSION with the robust functionality of Vega provides our customers a comprehensive PC simulation solution unmatched by any of our competitors," said David Fluegeman, Evans & Sutherland's General Manager, PC Simulation.

"The creation of this bundled simulation package is a result of two dominant industry forces coming together," said Dave Rolston, president and CEO, MultiGen-Paradigm. "We consider this to be a major win for the customer, a win for E&S, and a win for MultiGen-Paradigm."

Orders for the simFUSION/Vega bundle are being accepted now, with delivery in four weeks. Pricing and ordering information is available on the E&S web site at http://www.es.com.
