MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc. Will Assist Lockheed Martin in Building F-16 Mission Training Centers

SAN JOSE, Calif. - September 14, 1999 - MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc. today announced it has been selected by Lockheed Martin Tactical Defense Systems, Akron, Ohio, to assist in building the world’s most sophisticated full-mission F-16 system simulations, designed for the U.S. Air Force’s Air Combat Command.

The F-16 Mission Training Centers (MTCs) each comprise one to four high-fidelity F-16 system simulations, with either three- or seven-channel visual systems. The devices will network locally within each facility, and via long-haul networks to military installations worldwide. MultiGen-Paradigm will provide the run-time software for the image generators, as well as database tools and expertise to support Lockheed Martin’s design and development of the large-area imagery-derived databases that provide out-the-window views of air-to-air and air-to-ground mission environments.

"MultiGen-Paradigm is proud to be chosen as a major contributing partner in building the Air Force’s premier F-16 training system. This contract acknowledges the superior performance of our turnkey visual systems," said Stephen Gersuk, vice president of visual simulation programs, MultiGen-Paradigm.

"MultiGen-Paradigm’s participation in the database design enables us to leverage the technology we developed in building the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) multi-spectral database for the JSF program office over the last two years. This is the perfect add-on program to enable MultiGen-Paradigm to commercialize these tools to the benefit of all our customers," said Dan Brockway, director of database services, MultiGen-Paradigm.

The system simulations will enable pilots to engage in complex combat scenarios, from mission planning through mission debriefing, for both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. The F-16 MTCs, the newest component of the Air Force’s Distributed Mission Training System, will join AWACS and F-15 training devices.
