FOR RELEASE August 12, 2001

ELUMENS CORPORATION ANNOUNCES SPI-API FOR
MULTIGEN-PARADIGM VEGA CUSTOMERS

LOS ANGELES, CA August 12, 2001 - Elumens Corporation announces the availability of its Spherical Projection Images (SPI) for MultiGen-Paradigm Vega applications running on SGI IRIX and Windows NT systems. The SPI-API allows users to more quickly and easily configure the VisionStation directly through the Vega LynX GUI. The Elumens SPI-API for Vega on SGI IRIX and Windows NT is available on CD ROM with the purchase of all Elumen's VisionStations and downloadable from the MultiGen-Paradigm website.

The Elumens SPI-API for Vega is used to provide distortion correction for the curvature of the VisionStation's hemispherical screen surface. It will provide Vega users with the ability to set the hemispherical projection variables necessary to display a full, distortion free, 180 degree field of view (FOV) on any Elumens VisionStation dome surface. Users will have full control to turn distortion correction on or off depending on the type of display used (flat screen or dome).

"Vega is an extremely powerful software environment for real-time application development, and the VisionStation is the only display platform available to deliver a fully immersive 180 degree FOV from a single display channel, with a single projector and lens. The results of our joint initiative will be especially attractive to developers, integrators and users in the Simulation and Training and high end Engineering markets since a large percentage of this community use Vega to develop and deploy their real-time visualization applications," said Gordon Galloway, Elumens' vice President of marketing and business development.

"Working with Elumens, we can offer our customers a display configuration solution that helps them minimize the time it takes to view their Vega applications on the Elumens' VisionStation. The SPI-API for Vega will help improve our customers' productivity," said Chris Hawkins, vice president worldwide sales and marketing at MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc.
