San Jose, Calif. - July 15, 2003 - MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc., a leading provider of realtime 3D visual simulation software solutions, announced the availability of Creator Terrain Studio v1.1. Creator Terrain Studio delivers a unique set of 3D scene creation, geometry/texture creation tools and workflow management focused on the production of large-area realtime 3D terrain databases. Creator Terrain Studio is the industry's only solution that captures the workflow process and catalogs metadata based on MultiGen-Paradigm's MetaFlight schema, which facilitates shorter development and production cycles and enables the reuse of data. New features in this release include an integrated 3D Viewer, polygon measurement tools that provide runtime metrics, OpenFlight verification tools, high-resolution feature projection capabilities, additional support for MultiGen-Paradigm's Vega Prime and Vega runtime toolkits, and documentation enhancements. "Productivity and usability are essential for building complex, large-area terrain databases as efficiently as possible," said Jon Zucker, MultiGen-Paradigm's product manager of Creator Terrain Studio. "The features delivered in this release of Creator Terrain Studio demonstrates our commitment to provide our customers with powerful process and data management tools and the flexibility to utilize multiple terrain designs for a variety of applications." "This latest release of Creator Terrain Studio has significantly improved our ability to generate large areas of terrain. In particular, the powerful workflow management tools enable us to easily control complex projects that require a variety of correlated outputs," said Andy Stannard, Simulation Group, BAE SYSTEMS, Warton. "We have recently acquired a large amount of high-resolution imagery, and the Creator Terrain Studio wizards have enabled this new imagery to be quickly merged into our existing data." "Another important feature for us is the ability to embed command line programs into the Creator Terrain Studio workflow, enabling controlled use of the OpenFlight API, continued Stannard. "Further, the new Integrate Sites tool in v1.1 lets us reuse our existing OpenFlight runway models, whilst the verification tools have given us confidence that terrain designs will meet the capabilities of our target platforms. All of our new terrain projects are now controlled using Creator Terrain Studio, and I envision that Creator Terrain Studio will soon be fully employed into our terrain production environment."
