MULTIGEN-PARADIGM, INC. WINS "SHOW STOPPER" AWARD FOR URBAN SIMULATION AT 1999 A/E/C SYSTEMS CONFERENCE
Urban Simulation Affiliates Program expands to include two new members

SAN JOSE, Calif. - June 8, 1999 - MultiGen-Paradigm Inc.'s realtime 3D modeling and simulation tools MultiGen Creator™ and Vega™ received a 1999 Show Stopper Award from CADENCE magazine at this year's A/E/C Systems conference in Los Angeles. Separately, MultiGen-Paradigm announces the addition of two new members to the Urban Simulation Affiliates Program, Atlandia Design and echtzeit.

The CADENCE Show Stopper awards are presented annually to hardware and software developers whose products exhibit best-of-class quality and have moved A/E/C industries forward. MultiGen Creator and Vega received one of ten CADENCE Show Stopper awards given at the conference for their ability to accurately create realtime 3D models of urban and architectural scenes and present 3D worlds on standard PC workstations.

MultiGen Creator is a 3D modeling and assembly system designed for realtime urban simulation, visual simulation and game development. Vega is the industry-leading software for creating interactive presentations or fly-throughs of Creator-based models. Vega allows users to view models from any eyepoint and add visual enhancements such as clouds, fog and moving vehicles to scenes.

"We are very excited and honored to receive this award and are proud of MultiGen-Paradigm's growing presence in the urban simulation market," said Jon Zucker, urban simulation product marketing manager, MultiGen-Paradigm. "This award is a credit to the entire MultiGen-Paradigm engineering team who have created two dynamic products that meet and exceed customer needs."

"MultiGen Creator and Vega have won a CADENCE Show Stopper because of their ability to create and allow users to easily navigate virtual environments that accurately represent real-world locations," said Arnie Williams, editor in chief, CADENCE magazine. "Impressive features include the speed with which the Vega simulations run on low-end hardware, the ease-of-use of both products, and realtime viewing during modeling."

CADENCE magazine presents Show Stopper awards at various trade shows and conferences throughout the year. MultiGen-Paradigm was selected as an award-winner from approximately 400 companies exhibiting at the A/E/C Systems conference.

Established in 1986, CADENCE is the world's largest independent CAD magazine with 101,083 qualified subscribers.* CADENCE's qualified subscribers include engineers, CAD managers and corporate executives in industries such as AEC, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, civil engineering and GIS.

Urban Simulation Affiliates Program expands to include two new members

MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc. is pleased to announce Atlandia Design and echtzeit as the newest additions to the Urban Simulation Affiliates (USA) Program. The two companies join an expanding group of realtime 3D simulation experts that deliver professional visualization products for the A/E/C, urban planning, transportation, GIS and manufacturing industries.

Atlandia Design, based in Las Vegas, is an architectural firm managed by casino owner and developer Mirage Resorts International. Atlandia specializes in themed architectural visualization, interior visualization and architectural animation services. Atlandia recently completed an exterior and interior realtime 3D-visualization model of the Bellagio Hotel/Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nev. Atlandia used the model for design review and retail leasing applications of the landmark resort.

echtzeit, a systems provider of digital realtime environments, provides architectural visualization, urban simulation and media architectural services. Their CyberCity model of Berlin is a prime example of an urban simulation and 3D city information system. The model was recently used to review and accept innovative architectural designs that might otherwise have been rejected without utilizing a realtime 3D simulation. Berlin-based echtzeit has three additional locations across Europe and North America.

"Our Urban Simulation Affiliates Program continues to grow with the addition of these two outstanding firms," continued Zucker. "With membership up to nine companies in the U.S. and Europe, we will continue to build this premier group of urban simulation solution providers, and look forward to increased visibility of this group in the market."

The Urban Simulation Affiliates Program was formed in April 1999 to promote awareness of the realtime 3D market within the A/E/C, urban planning, and GIS communities, and to raise visibility of the companies that provide realtime 3D products and services. MultiGen-Paradigm serves as the founding member of the USA Program, and additional members include: Bergmann Associates, Rochester, N.Y.; Environmental Simulation Center, Ltd., New York, N.Y.; The Philadelphia Virtual Reality Center, Philadelphia, Pa.; Engineering & Computer Solutions, Inc., Orlando, Fla.; EDS Virtual Reality Center, Detroit, Mich.; the UCLA Urban Simulation Team, Los Angeles, Calif.; Atlandia Design, Las Vegas, Nev.; and Echtzeit, Berlin, Germany.

MultiGen-Paradigm is the leading supplier of realtime 3D software for visual simulation, entertainment, urban simulation, and simulation based training applications. MultiGen-Paradigm's products, including MultiGen® II Pro, MultiGen Creator, and SmartScene®, are used to create 3D objects and scenes for use in realtime applications. The company defines and supports OpenFlight®, the industry-standard realtime 3D scene description database format. MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc. is also a world leader in visual and audio simulation, sensor and IR solutions, dome-based simulation, and virtual reality products for use on SGI's IRIX® and Windows NT® workstations. Vega and AudioWorks2 are recognized as the premier software for development of these applications.

MultiGen-Paradigm's services groups develops custom large area databases, realtime applications, and turnkey image generator systems that exploit the high-end features of SGI workstations. MultiGen-Paradigm's customers include Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon, the Air Force Research Laboratory, Bergmann Associates, Bechtel Engineering, Krauss Maffei, the Israeli Air Force, British Aerospace, Disney Imagineering, Full Sail, LEGO A/S, Nintendo Company Ltd. and Sony Interactive Entertainment.
