FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE For More Information, contact: Stephanie Groswirt MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc. Announces SensorVision for Windows NT First COTS Sensor Simulation Tool for Windows NT San Jose, CA-April 12, 1999-MultiGen-Paradigm announced today the porting of their SensorVision module to the Windows NT® platform, as well as important upgrades and new features that will enhance performance to its SensorVision, Texture Material Mapper (TMM) and MOSART Atmospheric Tool (MAT) products. Shipment of these modules is expected in late Q2. The introduction of Vega 3.3 brings SensorVision to the NT platform for the first time. The new capabilities allow users to compute a complete reflection and emission solution in a single rendering pass, thereby doubling the speed of applications requiring both solution methods. Additionally, the new SensorVision provides dynamic contrast control for better image resolution by computing the maximum radiance as a function of the geometry in the field of view, and offers a temperature fidelity setting allowing users to simplify temperature calculations, greatly reducing memory usage and fragmentation. Finally, more accurate line-of-sight range calculation, and the integration with the Vega ephemeris model environment effect combine to provide greater correlation between the IR and the visual environment. "The explosive growth in compute and graphics power of Windows NT systems is driving a revolution in the simulation application market," said Jay Kidd, vice president of marketing, MultiGen-Paradigm. "We are pleased to lead the industry in bringing the first COTS sensor simulation tools to the lower cost PC platform." MultiGen-Paradigm's upgraded TMM and MAT have been ported to the Windows NT platform as well. TMM is used to create material maps from visual textures for use by SensorVision in calculating the Infrared (IR) view. MAT is used to calculate atmospheric effects on surface temperatures throughout the scene. The new TMM and MAT offer improved user interfaces and several new features. TMM now offers a more intuitive user interface similar to popular image editing packages, as well as the ability to manipulate and classify much larger textures. Users also have complete control over the number of composite materials and the exact material makeup of each increasing run-time performance and decreasing memory usage. MultiGen-Paradigm's new MAT now includes a graphical user interface offering users easier data entry and improved error checking. Users also can plot and view individual results, as well as perform auto-generation of input parameters to decrease configuration time. "We're pleased that MultiGen-Paradigm has chosen Intergraph Computer Systems' TDZ 2000 ViZual Workstations to demostrate its powerful new SensorVision sensor simulation software for Windows NT here at ITEC '99," said Barlow Blake, executive director, visual design and simulation division, Intergraph Computer Systems. "Like Intergraph, MultiGen-Paradigm continues to lead the way in bringing more powerful capabilities to the Windows NT platform for the visual simulation marketplace."
