MultiGen-Paradigm Awarded Contract For Jet Flight Simulation
Next-Generation Software Creates Cutting-Edge Night Flight Training

San Jose, Calif., April 11, 2000 – MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc, (MPI) the leading developer of realtime 3D solutions, today announced another success in image generation for flight simulators at the ITEC trade show being held in The Hague, Netherlands.Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI) awarded MultGen-Paradigm a contract for Flight IG, a realtime image generation software for fast jet flight simulation. MultGen-Paradigm's software will be installed in SGI's image generation hardware to form an integrated image generation solution for Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems, Akron on the F-15 Flight and System Trainer, now in development at the Akron unit for the Israeli Air Force.

"As a company, MultGen-Paradigm has always been committed to anticipating and exceeding the market demands for sophisticated features and increased simulation performance," said David Rolston, president and CEO of MultGen-Paradigm."FlightIG represents one of the first systems that actually enables pilots to use night vision goggles, or NVGs, for night flight training, ultimately making them safer and more effective."

"SGI is excited to be working with MultGen-Paradigm as a critical partner in our turn-key image generator business," said John Burwell, director of global programs for SGI. "Their FlightIG and database modeling products provide a cost effective, low risk approach to deliver the highest performance image generation systems available today," added Burwell.

MultiGen-Paradigm is offering the premier solution for Fast Jet applications in both dome and flat-panel displays for SGI systems. The company's sensor simulation products create unique NVG effects, suchas halos around lights, and the scene darkening that occurs when a cloud obscures moonlight. FlightIG is built on MultGen-Paradigm's flagship application Vega™, designed specifically for high frame rates while rendering complex large-area databases.

MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc., which has its headquarters in San Jose, CA, is the leading supplier of realtime 3D software for visual simulation, entertainment, urban simulation, and simulation-based training applications. MultiGen-Paradigm's suite of modeling tools, including MultiGen® II Pro and MultiGen Creator are used to create 3D objects and scenes for use in realtime applications. The company defines and supports OpenFlight®, the industry-standard realtime 3D scene description database format.

MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc. is also a world leader in visual and audio simulation, sensor and IR solutions, dome-based simulation, and virtual reality products for use on SGI's IRIX® and Windows NT® workstations. Vega and AudioWorks2 are recognized as the premier software for development of these applications.
