DIAMOND VISIONICS ANNOUNCES DYNAMIC TERRAIN FOR MULTIGEN-PARADIGM'S VEGA PRIME Plug-In Module to Provide Sophisticated Soil and Terrain Deformation to MultiGen-Paradigm's New 3D Simulation Development and Deployment Environment Lille, France - April 9, 2002 - At the International Training and Education Conference (ITEC), Diamond Visionics Company (DVC), today announced plans for Dynamic Terrain for Vega Prime, a physics-based soil/terrain modifier module for Vega Prime, MultiGen-Paradigm's premier realtime 3D application development and deployment environment. Based on Diamond Visionics' Dynamic Terrain Core, Dynamic Terrain for Vega Prime will compute changes to simulated terrain surfaces that are based on sophisticated physics models running in real time. Dynamic Terrain requires no preprocessing of the database. Dynamic Terrain for Vega Prime can also represent such features as craters caused by explosions, ruts dug out by heavy track or wheeled vehicles on soft soil, and ditches and berms created by earthmoving equipment. Dynamic Terrain for Vega Prime will also be HLA compliant. "Dynamic Terrain for Vega Prime offers significant realism for 3D simulation and training applications developed using MultiGen-Paradigm's Vega Prime," said David Gdovin President of Diamond Visionics "Developing this module to enhance such a powerful, customizable 3D simulation solution from an established leader like MultiGen-Paradigm is an excellent opportunity to provide our innovative technology to customers requiring this type of functionality for their applications." "Diamond Visionics' development of Dynamic Terrain for Vega Prime illustrates the advantages of Vega Prime's highly extensible, plug-in architecture," said Chris Hawkins, vice president of sales and marketing, MultiGen-Paradigm. "Vega Prime users seeking sophisticated soil and terrain features in their 3D simulation and training applications can now quickly and easily integrate Diamond Visionics' advanced functionality into their implementation, saving them significant development time and resources."
