MPI, which employs more than 120 people, was formed in September 1998 through a merger between MultiGen, Inc (founded 1986 in San Jose) and Paradigm Simulation, Inc. (founded 1990 in Dallas). The company sells its products and services through direct and indirect channels in North America and through distributors internationally, and through technology licenses with OEMs worldwide. CA expects to complete the transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval, within 30 days. Visualization: Seeing Is Believing In the mid 1990s, CA pioneered the use of 3D technology in the enterprise by introducing the Real World Interface for Unicenter TNG, which allows management applications to identify the business resources they manage, as well as the relationships among those resources. In 1998, CA acquired 3D pioneers Viewpoint DataLabs International and 3Name3D, and applied their experience and technology to bring 3D interfaces, imagery and objects to CA's software solutions such as Unicenter TNG and Jasmine ii. These acquisitions, along with the visual representation delivered by powerful Neugents neural network technology, have extended CA's leadership by bringing the benefits of 3D visualization to enterprise applications. CA believes that through 3D visualization, clients can create differentiating value in their eBusiness applications, improve the productivity of their employees and partners, and develop compelling content that will help them win on the Web. Computer Associates International, Inc.
