Vanves, France - January 10th, 2002 - Orad today announced plans to make MultiGen-Paradigm's Vega Prime software toolkit for realtime 3D application development available on Orad's DVG scalable visualization cluster. Vega Prime is a cross-platform, extendable and scalable development environment that includes MultiGen-Paradigm's advanced low-level scene graph (VSG), as well as a high-level abstraction API, delivering a wide range of customizable optimization and multi-level functionality. Enabling Vega Prime on the Orad DVG will allow users to access the highly scalable performance of the DVG system. Vega Prime users will be able to run on an unlimited number of Orad's DVG nodes. Vega Prime scenes with large polygon counts or texels can be visualized on DVG due to its unique board-independent scalability: an infinite number of graphics renderers running the Vega Prime development environment are tied together to participate in the rendering of the same view. Using various scaling methods to increase anti-aliasing beyond COTS cards capabilities and polygon count by any magnitude, the combination of Orad's DVG and MultiGen-Paradigm's Vega Prime will provide users in the military simulation area with extremely high levels of visualization performance. "Performance lies in the combined benefits of software and hardware," said Miki Tamir executive vice president at Orad. "The mixing of our companies respective talents in each field will bring a very powerful solution to the market." "Orad's unique methods of chaining rendering nodes, will provide a robust system for our customer base," said Chris Hawkins, vice president of sales and marketing at MultiGen-Paradigm. "Orad's DVG technology will provide our customers with a scalable and easily upgradeable system."
